Liners for polyethylene and polypropylene containers
A prerequisite for a good induction sealing is the use of the appropriate sealing material. The use of one material or another depends on several circumstances, but the most important one is the container type, that is, the material of the container to be induction sealed.
In this section we will analyse the different products CSP offers to seal polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) containers.
For the sealing of PE containers we have two materials with different thicknesses used to seal contents of all kinds, except aggressive ones. There is a material with a thickness of 179 microns and another of 209 microns, always depending on the design of the closure and the proper fit of the mouth with the stopper.
For PP containers we recommend the thickness of 209 microns. Even so, for the two types of packaging we can offer the 350-micron material, which solves many closure problems that may appear.
For PP and PE containers, Cap Sealing Products also has the two-piece material, prepared for certain types of closure. These closures must help the consumer to open the product by separating the two pieces that make up the liner. One of the pieces will be sealed in the container mouth, while the other will remain in the stopper. Another feature of this opening system is that the liner leaves evidence if it has been removed, therefore giving information to the consumer related to safety and confidence. The other materials for PE and PP are characterised by being easily removable.
Finally, we offer a material for sealing both PE and PP containers with a half-moon upper tab to facilitate opening the container. This is the most modern system in container induction closure and can be found in sauces, mayonnaises and cosmetics in general.
Just like PET liners, the liners produced by Cap Sealing Products for PP and PE containers can be designed with one or more tabs, with or without custom or generic printing and, obviously, to the exact size of the container mouth.
